Comments made by a popular reality television star have people all over the country talking.

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the family featured in Duck Dynasty is suspended from future filming after critical comments he made about homosexuality.

A lot of south Georgians are talking about the suspension of Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty. The cable network A&E suspended the reality tv star after a magazine interview in which he talked about what he considers sinful.

"They asked the man his opinion and he gave his opinion. I mean they knew he's a religious man and that's his viewpoints," said Kevin Harbosky.

The story appears in the January edition of GQ Magazine. Robertson expressed his thoughts on homosexuality and his answers immediately sparked some controversy.

"I believe everybody should be able to speak their minds and I personally have the same beliefs as they do that the bible says homosexuality is wrong. That's his opinion and views," said Nancy Burrell.

Supporters of Robertson don't believe he should be punished for speaking his mind.

"I can see if Phil had a contract with A&E that they wanted him to speak their beliefs too, but I don't think he should be punished for speaking his own beliefs if the show is about him and his life," said Paiton Cromer.

Duck Dynasty follows a Louisiana family that has made a fortune on duck calls, and it's one of the network most popular shows. Fans of the shows feel the suspension wasn't necessary.

"He can say whatever he wants and those who are offended by it they can just not watch the show," said Paiton Cromer.

The network only suspended Phil Robertson and not the other family members. The new season of Duck Dynasty premiers January 15th.
