MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery police have released the identity of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday.

Police say Wilfred Tyrone Austin, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 2600 block of Drake Street. The crash happened 8:15 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle wasn't injured and was released without any charges, according to police.

This is Montgomery's 20th traffic fatality of the year.

Police originally called the case a hit and run but now say it has been ruled an accident.
