ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Marshall County is in mourning after a commissioner suddenly passed away Friday afternoon.

District 3 Commissioner C.W. "Buddy" Allen was suffering from cancer when he was admitted to a hospital on Thursday. He died at the age of 74.

Allen served two terms after being elected in 2000 and 2004. He was re-elected to the post in 2012.

There will be a visitation held at Adams Brown Funeral Home in Albertville on Dec. 29 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral will be on Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist.
