Shot NKY standoff suspect transferred to justice center

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

man shot in the recent Latonia standoff was transferred from UC Medical Center to the Hamilton County Justice Center on Tuesday.

Michael Vaughan, 43, was shot in the shoulder during the final minutes of a 20 hour standoff in Latonia. Vaughan was taken to UC Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.

Covington Police cited post traumatic stress disorder as a possible trigger for Vaughan's actions and also obtained a mental health warrant to have him evaluated.

Currently, Vaughan is facing charge of attempted murder of an officer but it's likely that he will face more charges as the investigation continues.

Vaughan will be extradited to Kenton County.

Kentucky Commonwealth attorney Rob Sanders says Vaughan could be arraigned as early as this week.
