Oklahoma upsets Alabama in 45-31 Sugar Bowl win

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WSFA) -

No. 11 Oklahoma upset No. 3 Alabama with a 45-31 win in the Sugar Bowl Thursday night in New Orleans.

The Sooners racked up seven sacks and forced four turnovers.

The Tide finished the season 11-2.

In the third quarter, AJ McCarron broke Greg McElroy's single season passing record of 2,987 yards set in 2012.

It was Alabama's 14th appearance at the Sugar Bowl, and Oklahoma's seventh – the most by a non-SEC team.
