COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Latonia man who is accused of engaging in a 20-hour standoff with Covington Police last month,  pleaded not guilty Friday in Kenton District Court to attempted murder of a police officer.

Michael Vaughan, 43, had a video arraignment. He is lodged in the Kenton County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

If he's released, he will have to wear an electronic monitoring device.

Attorney Eric Deters' law firm is representing Vaughan.

Vaughan's next court appearance is a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kenton District Court.
