With a storm system bringing snow to Middle Tennessee on Sunday afternoon/evening, several school systems are canceling or delaying studies due to weather.

Metro Schools closed Tuesday

Metro Nashville Public Schools announced it has delayed the start to its spring semester due to the extreme cold temperatures.

Metro students will report to school on Wednesday, Jan. 8, for the first day of the new semester. Monday is a work day for 12-month MNPS employees only, and Tuesday is a teacher planning day, the district announced.

Sumner County Schools closed Monday

According to their web site, Sumner County Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 6, due to the anticipated cold weather.

Grundy County Schools closed Tuesday

Grundy County Schools will also be closed Monday and Tuesday, due to the threat of severe weather.

Humphreys County Schools closed Tuesday

Humphreys County School Director James Long says his district will be closed Monday and Tuesday because of the deep freeze.

Tennessee State University delays start on Monday

The TSU campus will open at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6.
