MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Montgomery Police Department says another person has died from injuries received in a 2-vehicle crash that occurred Monday night, on Alabama River Parkway between Chase Park Drive and Carver Road.
71-year-old Mary Medenhall, an occupant of the second vehicle, was pronounced dead Friday at a local hospital. Four others in this vehicle were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities say 61-year-old Jimmy Williams
of Montgomery, also sustained fatal injuries.
Montgomery Police and Fire medics responded to the site of the crash around 6 p.m. involving a 2001 Chevy Silverado, in which Williams was the only occupant, and a 1992 Chevy Caprice with five occupants.
An initial investigation by MPD indicates that Williams' Silverado was traveling south on Alabama River Parkway when it crossed the double yellow line, entered the inside lane of northbound traffic and collided with the Caprice.
No other details surrounding the investigation have been released.
