CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Cherokee County authorities are warning residents about an online scam.

Over the past several months, the sheriff's office has received complaints about an online Facebook business in the Cherokee County area.

The victims say they ordered products and paid by credit card but never received the merchandise. Victims' repeated attempts to contact the owner of the business by email have been unsuccessful.

The sheriff's office encourages residents to research any online business and to be cautious about giving financial information to online vendors.
