Police respond to shooting on Force Drive in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police said a man was shot after a struggle in the doorway of a Huntsville home.

Authorities said it happened at 4204 Force Drive. Police confirmed the shooting just before 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators said one man was shot in the chest and was seen being rushed from the home on a stretcher. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Minutes after removing the man from the home, a woman was also loaded onto a stretcher. Police would not comment on her injuries or condition.

Investigators used K-9s to search the scene, but no one is currently in custody as police continue to examine evidence at the scene and follow leads. Police said the victim and shooter may know each other.
