PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

The City of Prattville has announced this year's 10th annual Mardi Gras Parade Grand Marshal will be long time resident and Former State Representative Mac Gipson.

Gipson is well known in Prattville for his service as the former State Legislator representing both Autauga and Elmore Counties. He served on the Travel and Tourism and Education Appropriations committees. Currently he serves as the Administrator of the Alabama Beverage Control Board, the Board of the Prattville YMCA and past President Chamber of Commerce.

This year's parade, which is themed "10 Years Rolling with the Good Times", will begin at Stanley-Jenson Stadium around 1 p.m. on February 15. It will follow Main Street through downtown Prattville then onto Court street, ending up at Gin Shop Hill road.

Local vendors will sell food and drinks, starting at 11 a.m. in the Partner in Pediatrics parking lot, located next to Bank Trust in downtown Prattville. A children's fun area will be set up as well. There will be plenty of floats, beads, candy and MoonPies for everyone.

Also, the 3rd annual Prattville Service League Chili Cook-off will be held in conjunction with the festivities. Set up/ check in will begin at 7 a.m. and will be open to the public at 11:30 a.m. For more information and complete rules contact the Prattville Service League at rachell419@yahoo.com
