HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A fatal wreck early Saturday morning claimed a life in Huntsville.

Huntsville police said the 23-year-old victim was driving on the westbound ramp from northbound Memorial Parkway to westbound I-565 when he lost control of his truck and left the road, hitting a light pole. This happened around 3:30 a.m.

Police said a passing citizen called them about a vehicle being wrapped around a pole. Officers said that when they arrived, they found the victim had died inside the truck.

Authorities said the crash appears to possibly be alcohol related at this time.
