FLORETTE, AL (WAFF) -

Rescue crews responded to a call for help from a woman who fell while hiking in Morgan County Sunday afternoon.

A 43-year-old woman was walking in the woods near Pines Church Road in Florette near Somerville in Morgan County. She fell about 10 feet down an embankment and couldn't get up on the very rough terrain on her own. She called 911, and authorities were able to locate her to provide emergency assistance. There was no word on the extent of her injuries, but they were not believed to be critical.

About 30 people from the Florette Volunteer Fire Department, Morgan County Rescue Squad, Brindlee Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, and Huntsville Cave Rescue Team participated in the response.
