MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Closing arguments ended Wednesday in the case of a former assistant fire chief accused of assault.

Former Asbury Assistant Chief Kenneth Jones is charged with running over Marlon Banks with his truck in February 2011.

Banks alleges that Jones raised a weapon to him, and after Banks responded by hitting Jones in the face, Jones backed up the truck and ran over Banks.

The judge is expected to give the jury final instructions before allowing them to begin deliberations Thursday.
