MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department is releasing the name of the victim who was shot to death Sunday evening.

Cedric Jones, 29, of Montgomery was fatally injured in a shooting that happened around 8:15 p.m. in the 100 block of West Vandiver Boulevard.

Authorities say they have one person is in custody but no charges have been filed. No motive has been given.

The shooting is currently being called a death investigation while police look into all the circumstances surrounding the incident. It has not been classified as a homicide.

The case will presented to the Montgomery County grand jury.

No additional details are being released by police at this time.
