BIRMINGHAM, AL (WSFA) -

A former Prattville High School football coach could soon be taking a new college coaching job in Birmingham.

Former Lions coach Bill Clark is expected to be the next head coach of the UAB Blazers football team. He reportedly met with UAB officials Friday and interviewed for the position.

Clark led Prattville to two state championships before taking a job at South Alabama. He later moved on to become head coach at Jacksonville State where he led the program to an 11 win season and the FCS quarterfinals.

The coach's buyout clause with Jacksonville State is $400,000.

Clark has an impressive 118 wins and 15 overall losses as a head coach.

UAB is looking to replace former coach Garrick McGee who resigned to become the offensive coordinator at Louisville when Bobby Petrino was hired there.
