NEW ORLEANS, LA - As a cold front pushes through the area Tuesday, colder air is expected to arrive by midday and the afternoon. 

Not only will temperatures be much colder, but winds will be much stronger. A wind advisory is in effect from 8am until 6pm Tuesday. Sustained winds will be around 20 mph are likely to gust to around 35 mph. 

Sunshine will return as temperatures begin to fall later in the day. Cold air settles in overnight and a hard freeze warning is in effect for the north shore as temperatures reach the low and mid 20s. 

Highs Wednesday will remain the upper 40s and low 50s. A slight increase in temperatures is expected on Thursday before another front comes in for Friday morning and afternoon.
