BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Law enforcement officers are responding to a tattoo parlor in north Birmingham, but it is not yet clear why.

Officers appearing to be with SWAT and DEA set up a perimeter at the Black Magic Tattoo and Piercing shop on 34th Avenue North and Vanderbilt Road/Highway 79. The business also offers car washes, and is next to an EZ Money check cashing business and a barber shop.

Officers searched some of the cars in the nearby parking lot and are standing inside the tattoo parlor. Drug dogs were also brought to the scene.

Authorities have not yet released information about why they are there. Several people have been taken into custody.

FOX6 News has a crew at the scene. We will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
