SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

MGM has released new renderings of their Springfield casino proposal the day before they will present their final presentation to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

One image depicts a shopping area outside of the cinema, including an Apple store. The other rendering shows stores and restaurants around a park during the holiday season.

The Chairman of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission Stephen Crosby sat down one-on-one with CBS 3 Tuesday afternoon to discuss MGM's future in Springfield.

Crosby acknowledged the gaming company has passed their background checks, submitted their applications and will hold their final presentation on Thursday. CBS 3 will be live in Boston during the first five minutes of our broadcast Thursday to report on MGM's final proposal.

Crosby said he can't see anything that would stand in the way of MGM getting the Western Mass casino license.

"To be honest, I think it's not very likely that they would be stopped," said Crosby.

The chairman said after everything is all said and done, the outlook for a Springfield-based casino is positive.

"Probably we will go forward with them. Although, that's not certain. I'm only one commissioner, there are five of us. But you can be sure it will be done with an eye to maximized it all with the criteria we are looking for," explained Crosby.
