'Suspicious' van was friendly neighbor

LUDLOW, MA (WSHM) -

Police have confirmed that the reported suspicious van that approached a young boy in Ludlow on Wednesday was simply a neighbor that stopped because of the extreme cold.

The neighbor thought he would help keep the child warm, according to police. The neighbor called police to explain what had happened after he saw the news story on TV.

Police asked that the public to be on the lookout after a suspicious van approached a young boy in Ludlow on Wednesday.
