HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A state audit uncovered several issues at the Space and Rocket Center.

The 21-page audit recently released by the state Public Examiner's Office contains eight findings on non-compliance, some of which are as recent as 2012.

Among the findings, a failure to give long-time employees the longevity amounts they were due. The audit recommends the Alabama Space Science Commission pay employees all the underpayments due them.

The audit also uncovered that workers were getting six fewer holidays than are mandated by law for state employees.

Other problems include a conflict with travel expense reimbursements and a failure to comply with the Open Meetings Act.

Representatives with the Space and Rocket Center said they are already complying in regards to four of the issues raised. The other four issues remain under review.
