MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Matt Bostic's, world record holder for the most 3-point shots in a 24 hour period, and his son Trey will shoot the 3-point shots for one hour to raise funds for Jessica Shelby. Jessica is the wife of Fred Shelby, one of the YMCA Montgomery's Wellness Directors. She was Diagnosed with a brain tumor in March, and currently has stage 3 brain cancer.

This fundraiser started Friday morning from 7 to 8 a.m., at the Bell road YMCAFor every shot that Matt makes, money will go to the Shelby family. Their goal was to raise enough money to offset the cost of her cancer treatment next month.

Shoot for life was founded in memory of Joanie Bostic, who lost her own battle with cancer.  The vision for the organization is to bring hope to those fighting cancer through a simple game of basketball. For more information about Treys for treatment visit shootforlife.org.
