GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) -

Gadsden police are looking for thieves who stole more than two dozen propane tanks during the current cold snap.

Police Lieutenant Mike Moon says the tanks were stolen from four locations, two of them atop Lookout Mountain just across from Noccalula Falls. The locations include two Dollar General stores and a Rainbow Food Mart.

Moon says more than 30 tanks have been stolen so far, indicating the thieves might be reselling them.

Three of the incidents happened Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, and all involved the locks being broken on the cages that normally hold the tanks.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Gadsden police.
