BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A survey by the Credit Union National Association reveals the impact of the Target breach on Alabama credit unions.

Eight credit unions lost an estimated $407,000. The losses include what it cost the credit unions to investigate the breach, add staff to call centers and reissue cards to members.

Just under 80,000 cards across the state have been affected with the majority being debit cards.
