HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A man was killed in a fatal shooting in Huntsville late Friday night.

Police identified the victim as Timothy Latrell Derrick, 33, of Huntsville. The shooting is being treated as a homicide investigation.

Huntsville police said they got the call around midnight that there was a domestic disturbance with shots fired on the 4900 block of Wayne Court.

When officers arrived, they said they found Derrick with multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk and a distraught woman next to him. Police said Derrick died at the scene. Investigators said Derrick and the woman were a couple.

Police are questioning a person of interest. No arrests have been made.
