The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice has transferred all 76 youth residents from the Jetson Center for Youth in Baker.

The boys were moved to either to the Swanson Center in Monroe or the Bridge City Center for Youth in New Orleans. According to OJJ officials the youth were transferred between midnight and 2 a.m.

OJJ Deputy Secretary Dr. Mary Livers says the decision was made in order to offer the best treatment to the at risk boys.

"The reasons for the transfer of youth are actually very simple, we have determined that the environment at Jetson was not conducive to delivery of the therapeutic model while ensuring safety of youth and staff," said Livers.

The 154 employees at Jetson were not notified prior to the transfer according to OJJ officials.
