NEW HANOVER/BLADEN COUNTY, NC - (WECT) - Gangs will be the main topic of two separate events on Monday.

Linda Rawley, with the Wilmington Police Department, will be addressing the gang problem in the Port City during a luncheon hosted by the League of Woman Voters on Monday. The lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at noon. It will be taking place at McAlister's on South College Road.

Monday night, the Bladen County Community will be hosting a discussion on gangs.  This will be the second gang awareness event for the county. The goal of the discussion is how to recognize if your child is in a gang and what you should do to help them out.

It kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Dublin Lions Club.

Both events are open to the public.
