BUTLER CO., AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a Virginia man.

The crash happened around 4:45 a.m. Sunday along Interstate 65 in Butler County.

Jorge Luis Fuentes, 47, of Richmond, Va., was killed when the 2011 Ford he was driving left the roadway struck a tree eight miles south of Georgiana.

Fuentes was pronounced dead at the scene. Four passengers in his vehicle were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
