CULLMAN, AL (WBRC) -

Cullman County residents say there is a growing concern over the poor conditions and possible abandonment of a local cemetery.

Mark Sharp said he's a disappointed customer after purchasing memorial name plates meant for graves in the Cullman Memory Gardens. Sharp said after paying for the name plates in honor of his loved ones, the graves remain unmarked.

"My mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, uncle and sister all buried there. Three of my relatives' graves do not have name plates," Sharp said.

Residents complain that DeArbor LLC., owner of the cemetery, has been unreachable. The local and corporate office phone lines have been disconnected and its website is no longer active.

FOX6 News has been in contact with the state to see what it will do about this issue. We will update www.MyFoxAl.com with any response from the state.
