MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Roads are reopening across Central Alabama, but officials are still stressing that commuters use caution while returning to the roadways.

The Alabama Department of Transportation officials say road conditions improved greatly during the day Thursday but some roads are still icy and travelers should use extreme caution.

Several south Alabama counties and cities have announced complete road closures, or in some cases roads that are reopening. Be warned, however, that just because roads may be opened does not mean there aren't some icy spots. USE CAUTION when driving.
