TUCSON, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

A man wanted in Michigan after being convicted on child pornography charges has been arrested in Arizona.

Michael Mazel, 34, was arrested Tuesday during a vehicle stop on Interstate 10 near Eloy, said U.S. Marshals in Tucson.

Mazel was arrested without incident and was possibly headed to Mexico, according to U.S. Marshal David Gonzales.

Mazel was wanted in the Eastern District of Michigan for failure to appear on a February 2013 arrest for receipt, distribution and possession of child pornography.

Mazel was released on bond and eventually convicted of the charges.

Mazel appeared for all of his court hearings. However, the day before his sentencing scheduled on Jan. 21, 2014, Mazel removed his electronic bracelet and fled the area.

Prosecutors said Mazel is facing a possible 12-year prison sentence for child pornography and possible new charges for failure to appear and possession of a firearm.
