WSFA holds 18th annual Fever Signing Day party

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

National Signing Day for high school football players was Wednesday, and players from central and south Alabama traveled to the WSFA 12 studio for the 18th annual Fever Signing Day party.

The party included 22 future college players including future players at Auburn University, University of Michigan, NIU and Vanderbilt University.

The following players attended the Fever Signing Day party:

Issac Nixon, from Pike County High School, will play at Alabama State University

Jalen Harris, from Saint James High School, will play at Auburn University

Josh Crawford, from Edgewood Academy, will play at Vanderbilt University 

Kenny Thomas, from Prattville High School, will play at the University of Louisville  

Reggie Jackson, from Montgomery Catholic High School, will play at Mississippi Valley State University

Keith Washington, from Prattville High School, will play at the University of Michigan 

Isaiah Williams, from Carver High School in Montgomery, will play at Huntingdon College 

Melvin Tyus, from Carver High School in Montgomery, will play at Troy University

Doug Salter, from Brantley High School, will play at Troy University

Ismail Saleem, from Carver High School in Montgomery, will play at Troy University

Skylar Calhoun, from Carver High School in Montgomery, will play at Grambling State University    

Cedric Barnes, from Carver High School in Montgomery, will play at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, KS.

Cyron Ellis, from Selma High School, will play at Huntingdon College

Kendarious Merchant, from Selma High School, will play at Stillman College

T'wanya Carter, from Robert E. Lee High School, will play at Huntingdon College 

Adrian King, from Robert E. Lee High School, will play at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Myles Evans, from Robert E. Lee High School, will play at Stillman College  

Joshua Smiley, from Robert E. Lee High School, will play at the University of West Florida

Keegan Smith, from Prattville High School, will play at the University of West Alabama

Seth Knotts, from Prattville High School, will play at the University of West Alabama

Marquis Howard, from Robert E. Lee High School, will play at Northern Illinois University 

Thomas Stokes, from Montgomery Catholic High School, will play at Mississippi Valley State University 

A few players who were not able to attend the Fever Signing Day party also signed a letter of intent on Wednesday. 


Junior McClendon played at Lakeside School in Eufaula and signed a letter of intent on Wednesday to play at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, AR.


Two players from Montgomery Academy signed a letter of intent on Wednesday also. Tyler Mitchell committed to Kansas State and Josh Thomas committed to Appalachian State.

    Edouard Julien singled home the winning run in the 11th inning Tuesday as No. 7 seed Auburn beat Kentucky 4-3 to eliminate the 10th-seeded Wildcats from the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
