TROY, AL (WSFA) -

A Troy marketing professor has been names the 2014 Outstanding Educator of the year by The Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators.

Dr. Gordon G. Mosely, Associate Professor of Marketing in Troy University's Sorrell College of Business, for his oustanding record and contributions to marekting education. He will also be recognized, along with Educators of the Year fro nineother FBD organizations during a Federation's banquet in March.

"Dr. Mosley is respected by all who come into contact with him – students, faculty colleagues and staff," said Dr. Earl Ingram, Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. "Along with his service to students and the University here in Troy, he has made a significant contribution by teaching in our international locations over the past decade. We are all very proud that ACME recognizes his achievements and has chosen to honor him in this manner."

Dr. Judson Edwards, Dean of the Sorrell College of Business, said Dr. Mosley is deserving of this recognition. "Dr. Mosley develops strong marketing students through a combination of rigorous classroom instruction and willingness to mentor and guide them," Dr. Edwards said.

Dr. Mosley teaches classes in business, management and marketing at TROY. He holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor's in political science both from Michigan State University.

"I felt both honored and delighted when I learned that I had been selected as Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators (ACME)," Dr. Mosley said. "This is more than a reflection on me—it also reflects well on the support I have gotten over the years from both Troy University and my colleagues. It's like getting the game ball after a win—one person gets it, but many more deserve it as well, as they have also contributed to the success it honors."
