BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Most major roadways, like I-10 and I-12, are back open after days of winter weather, while other roads and bridges remain closed due to ice.

The East Baton Rouge Department of Public Works is trying to get things back to normal.

"Many of the other closures that we had 24 hours ago are open," said David Guillory, director of DPW. "We are starting to move barricades. We're dealing with sheriff and police departments on which roads are safe to travel. Lots of ice starting to melt out of travel lanes. Many drivers will probably still see ice on edges of roads. We still ask that drivers are careful and watch their speeds throughout the day."

The ice has also melted in Gonzales, allowing vehicles back on I-10 in Ascension Parish.
