AMELIA, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are investigating a deadly single-vehicle crash in which the driver went off the road and hit a mobile home Thursday afternoon.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Irmanese "Irma" Williams, 62, of Amelia, was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner. The cause of death is unknown and an autopsy is scheduled.

The accident happened on Duhon Boulevard at Lakeview Drive in Amelia around 3:30 p.m.

According to investigators, Williams and a 13-year-old boy were in the 2008 GMC Envoy when it veered off the road in a curve, continued through a yard and eventually hit the mobile home. The teen was flown to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center by Acadian Air Med Services. He was treated and released.

Deputies said the two people inside the home at the time of the wreck were not injured.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
