MOHAVE VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

Mohave County sheriff's deputies said a man tried to lure a Mohave Valley girl into his vehicle Saturday afternoon and are asking parents and children to take precautions.

The girl got off a school bus about 3:36 p.m. near her house in the 1900 block of East Vista Drive when the man drove by and tried to lure her into his car by offering her a ride, according to a sheriff's office news release.

The suspect is described as in his mid-20s to mid-30s with black hair and driving an older model red, four-door car with tinted windows.

Local law enforcement officials were notified and are searching for the vehicle and suspect.

The sheriff's office recommended children walk in groups for safety purposes, according to the release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mohave County Sheriff's Office at 928-753-0753 or Silent Witness at 928-753-1234.
