Kids and adults alike can see Buttercup's predictions for the spring this Saturday in Chandler.

The groundhog will be at the City of Chandler's Environmental Education Center, located at 4050 E Chandler Heights Rd. at 2 p.m. for the annual event.

Following the prediction, wildlife educator Lisa Limbert of Lisa's Creatures will give a free wildlife class.

Groundhog Day is Sunday, residents will gather in Punxsutawney, PA to see if the famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, spots his shadow and predicts the end of winter.

According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

Unlike much of the U.S., Arizonans have seen dry and warm temperatures so far this winter. January was the third warmest one on record in Phoenix, according to Chief Meteorologist Chris Dunn.
