BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police arrested a Denham Springs man Friday after they say he used the Baton Rouge Fire Department to pocket more than $5,000.

Officers say 30-year-old Corey Augillard worked at CarQuest on Plank Road. He used the fire department account at the CarQuest to buy items from the store, return them and pocket the money. Police also say he purchased items for his personal vehicle and charged the fire department.

Reports say Augillard also bought items online with the fire department's account from Best Buy, such as a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, a Sony Playstation 4, a Call of Duty video game, an LG Blu-Ray DVD player, and a touchscreen DVD player.

Many of the items were shipped to Augillard's home.

The Fire Department was charged $5,235.41.

The fraud occurred between September 4, 2012 until December 10, 2013. Augillard was arrested January 30, 2014 and was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he was booked on charges of felony theft, refund fraud, forgery, 55 counts of access device fraud, and receipts and UPC label unlawful acts.

He is being held on an $11,000 bond.
