PHOENIX (AP) -

Federal authorities say a gang member accused in a brutal shooting in Indiana has been captured in Phoenix.

The U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson Amelia Swenhaugen said 30-year-old Derrich Love was arrested for attempted homicide Friday by a task force.

U.S. Marshals located him near McDowell Road and 55th Avenue.

Swenhaugen said on Dec. 13, Love and his brother, Ruben Love, returned to a residence in Gary, Ind., where they had made a purchase involving drugs and shot a man multiple times in the head.

The brothers, who are both members of a street gang, took the victim's money before fleeing.

Authorities say the victim survived.

They say Ruben Love was arrested in Gary two weeks ago.

They believe Derrich Love has been in Arizona since late January.
