HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A woman was taken to the hospital Sunday evening after crashing her vehicle. Officers said she was involved with a second wreck minutes earlier.

Police said the woman was initially involved with a wreck at Leeman Ferry and Drake Avenue and left the scene. She then crashed into a creek at Leeman Ferry and Airport Road.

She was found lying in the water beside the car. Officials said her car was on fire when responders arrived at the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital by HEMSI. Her condition is not known.
