MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Madison County Sheriff's Office warned citizens about a recent scam concerning bond payments.

Deputies said they've been receiving reports that callers are contacting Madison County residents and claiming that they have a warrant from another county or state and can pay the bond by credit card.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office said they will never contact you by phone saying you have a warrant or request that you pay for a bond or any other fees by credit card over the phone.

If you receive this or similar calls that seem suspicious, deputies urge you to contact them to report the call. You can also contact the deputies via their Facebook page or email them at mcsoinfo@madisoncountyal.gov.
