ALDOT fully prepared during Thursday's flurries

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Alabama Department of Transportation says they were prepared for Thursday's winter weather, just in case it became a problem.

Before the first flurries hit, ALDOT had already treated the roads with salt brine. By the time it started snowing, the roads were in pretty good shape. Following the rush hour commute, crews went back out to treat the roads one more time.

Many people say the flurries brought on a flashback to last Tuesday.

"I panicked because I was stuck at work for a while last time and she had to spend the night at school so you know I wanted to be careful," said Leanetta Herrod, recalling how she and her daughter spent the snowstorm. "I feel much better about today. She was just in the store complaining ‘Mom, I wish it would snow again.'"
