OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) -

The trial for Thomas May, the man charged with the killing his mother in law and the attempted murder of his child, estranged wife and her grandmother, has been rescheduled.

Officials say that a witness in the case had to be hospitalized causing the delay of the trial, but it has now been rescheduled for March 10, 2014. A pretrial hearing will be held on March 3.

May faces one count of capital murder and two counts of attempted murder. The fatal shootings occurred back in April of 2011 on the campus of Southern Union State Community College in Opelika.
