Tuscaloosa Police investigating an assault at Sokol Park

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa Police department is investigating an assault that took place at Sokol Park on Sunday morning.

Police say a 17-year-old female was assaulted while jogging on a wooded trail around 10:45 a.m. The victim was transported to DCH Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released. The victim was not sexually assaulted.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 18-20 years of age, between 5'10" and 6" and around 240 pounds. The suspect was wearing a blue/white shirt with a dark colored long sleeve under shirt.
