Downed power lines cause road closures on Jeff Davis Hwy; all lanes now open

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Portions of Jeff Davis Highway close to Falling Creek road were closed in the early morning hours on Tuesday following a single-vehicle accident that left power lines down Monday night.

All lanes have since reopened. The crash is still under investigation.

According to Chesterfield Police, a female driver hit a power pole and eventually crashed into a group of trees around 9 p.m. Monday night. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Downed wires caused Jefferson Davis Highway to be closed for several hours as crews worked on-scene into the early morning on Tuesday.
