NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through 6 a.m. Thursday. Snow will continue to fall this evening before taper off overnight. Snow could be heavy at times. 

Snow amounts will range from around 1-2" in NW Alabama to up to 6" in NE Alabama and where the heavier snow bands set up.

Travel conditions are expected to quickly deteriorate tonight, creating hazardous travel conditions through Thursday morning. Road conditions will improve by midday Thursday when temperatures will climb above freezing and some sunshine breaks out.
