BUTLER CO., AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers say Interstate 65 in Butler County is now clear following the crash of an 18-wheeler that was hauling a full load of frozen chicken.

The crash happened southbound at the 116.8 mile marker.

Troopers say the driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Georgiana hospital for treatment.

Troopers were on the scene and the Alabama Department of Transportation placed a directional sign warning oncoming traffic of the situation while crews unloaded the frozen chicken by hand.

After the trailer was emptied, authorities brought the truck upright and removed it from the scene with a tow truck.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
