CHILTON CO., AL (WSFA) -

Officials have released the name of the pedestrian, who was struck and killed on Interstate 65 in Chilton County.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday, 50-year-old Mary Pelican from Dothan was killed when she was struck by a 2011 Nissan Versa on I-65 northbound at the 223 mile marker, 10 miles north of Clanton.

Troopers say the driver of the Nissan Versa suffered minor injuries during the accident.

No other information is known at this time as the investigation continues.
