CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says there has been an increase in vehicle, home and construction site burglaries within the past month.

Sgt. Steve Heise says extra patrols have been added to help prevent future crimes.

Police want residents to remember to always lock their homes and cars and take out all valuables from their vehicles.

They say the victims in all of the car burglaries left their vehicles unlocked and left high-priced items inside.

Officials are also asking residents to keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

Anyone who has information about recent thefts or the person or people behind those crimes is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tips line at 931-645-8477.
