Lanett police make largest child porn bust in decades

LANETT, AL (WSFA) -

The Lanett Police Department says it has made its largest child pornography bust in decades after taking 68-year-old Paul Henry into custody.

Henry is now charged with 343 counts of child porn and 1 count of enticing a child.

Henry, who neighbors called "Paw Paw" lived in Fuller Mobile Home Park when authorities arrived and searched his residence on February 5.

Authorities with the Lanett Police Department, Chambers County Sheriff's Department, and Alabama Bureau of Investigation reported finding children's underwear in the home as well as pornographic magazines and videos. Also found were 346 child porn images and 4 child porn videos.

Following the search, Henry was arrested and transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility. He is being held without bond until he back be taken before a judge.

Authorities say if bond is set, Henry could see it posted at approximately $3.4 million, or $10,000 for each count.

Investigators are asking parents to come forward and notify them if they believe their children have had any contact with Henry.
